If I had a hat, it would be 'off' to Anita Lewis, the present wife. Never mind that it was MISTER Lewis's first wife's ashes...what, was he busy watching a ballgame or sumpin'? And now I read that the (nasty looking, stupid) turtle/urn is back "where it belongs." NOTE TO MISTER LEWIS: Scatter the ashes to the four winds...if you're too stingy to spring for a permanent location for your deceased wife's remains...go (don't send Anita) to your first wife's favorite place and scatter her ashes. Trash the turtle and allow your WIFE to live without the ceramic resting place as it were hanging over her head.

Good god, if it's not bad enough keeping your loved one's remains at all instead of scattering them or burying them, to keep them inside a tacky turtle is just wrong. When I'm gone, just throw me on the compost heap, there'll be a good crop of rhubarb that year.

Just wanted to post to my dear readers that the turtle has been found, and you can see it in all its tacky glory here: http://stargazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070808/COLUMNIST05/708080310/1056

My god... it LOOKS like something you'd find at the salvation army thrift shop!

Your line, "...it's difficult to live in the shadow of another woman's turtle," is one of the funniest lines I've read in weeks (and I just finished a Vonnegut novel, so you had some real competition).
